Reporting To
Responsibilities • Analyze business performance, research on industry trend and identify strategic initiatives for MKU.
• Facilitate goal deployment through HR – goal cascading from business goal to functional goal to individual goal.
• Reengineer business process to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the processes in the age of rapid change.
• Explore opportunities of technology upgradation and automation opportunities.
• Challenge the status quo and lead change management in the organization.
• Plan and implement change management initiatives
• Develop annual roadmap for OE Journey and monitor progress against roadmap.
• Facilitate identification and selection of Focused Improvement Projects.
• Conduct training for FIPs and review progress of all running projects, identify hurdles and initiate actions to ensure closure of the projects on time.
• Facilitate Idea Harvesting in DMTs and follow up for implementation of the ideas.
• Track the accrued and annualized savings from FIPs and Kaizens on a monthly basis and get the savings validated through finance
• Lead root cause analysis sessions of critical process and equipment failure.
• Participate in DMT review to ensure that structured approach is followed in DMT meeting, issues are analyzed by cross functional teams, data is used for decision making and action plans are closed on time.
• Prepare presentation for open forums and facilitate regular conduction of open forums.
• Monitor the achievement of KPOVs (Key Process Output Variables) area wise and plant wise by tracking them personally on a defined frequency (weekly or monthly).
• Review R & R (Reward and Recognition) Policies of the organization on annual basis and suggest changes to make it more effective
• Take up plant walkthrough round to ensure workplace organization and adoption of operations excellence practices.
• Create a culture of continuous improvement through idea harvesting, Kaizen, OE tools and improvement methodologies, and problem solving skill development program.
• Ensure Knowledge Management for OE – create training materials, verify the quality of training materials created by the teams, and ensure systematic storage of all documents such as training material, FIP documents/files, SOPs etc. in central data base.
• Conduct OE Maturity Assessment to measure the progress made by the teams and suggest areas of improvement.
 Report progress of the OE initiative to the management
 Monitor monthly, quarterly and annual performance on KPIs, analyze major deviations and report to top management.
 Prepare report for management was and when required.
 Conduct training on improvement approach, methodologies such as Lean, Six-Sigma, TPM etc.
 Coach HODs on adoption of OE methodologies and facilitate inter departmental problem solving.
 Keep up to date with developments in new technologies/ production techniques by reading relevant journals, and attending seminars etc.
 Develop OE team through coaching and mentoring.
 Review the capability development plan including training need identification, training plan and execution. Provide input on future training needs.
 Set goals for the OE team, conduct half yearly review and annual appraisal.
Competencies • SME on improvement tools and methodologies – Operations Excellence, QC, Kaizen, Lean, TPM, WCM, Six Sigma etc.
• Sound knowledge of planning, production, maintenance, quality and material management processes
• Results orientated with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines
• Proven leadership and management skills in handling multiple departments/plants and labours
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, influencing and conflict resolution skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Resilient, self-motivated and able to work well under pressure
• Financial acumen - Understanding of basic financial concepts, Interpretation of financial data, application of financial data for decision making, planning and cost reduction
