Reporting To
Responsibilities • Assess capacity expansion and outsourcing needs considering the business growth plan
• Explore opportunities of technology upgradation and new technology adoption
• Prepare Capex plan along with business case and seek approval from top management.
• Define annual business goals for Malwan and Rooma in alignment with business goals
• Prepare annual budget for manufacturing before start of the financial year
• Recommend suitable processes, plant and line layout for the upcoming projects, expansions etc.
• Review manufacturing structure, own/contractual manpower deployment to improve effectiveness and efficiency of operations
• Proactively assess operational risks on a continuous basis and implement suitable countermeasure to address the risks
• Participate in project planning, critically review assumptions and risks related to manufacturing
• Ensure synchronization of operations among Tech Transfer, Production at Malwan and Room
• Resolve interdepartmental issues among plant and other service functions
• Review availability of critical input materials, assess impact of delays and lead discussions with planning team for preplanning and scheduling to minimize impact on final delivery
• Review the production plan and scheduling including assumptions for Malwan and Rooma and provide feedback to the team
• Monitor inventory level and availability of critical RM and strategize with planning and procurement
• Review day to day production status, plan for meeting shortfalls
• Review downtimes, quality issues and their impact on production plan and guide teams on action planning
• Review monthly PM plan adherence and root cause analysis of critical failures, closure of action plan of previous reviews
• Review rework and rejections, root cause analysis of major quality issues, closure of action plan of previous reviews
• Review analysis of customer complaints due to manufacturing and closure of CAPAs on time. Periodically review the effectiveness of the CAPAs.
• Review the quality of incoming, WIP and FG, deviations and action plan for improvement
• Periodically visit plants, take shop floor round, assess on ground implementation of operations excellence practices. Appreciate good work and ask teams to prepare improvement plant
• Review QMS audit findings, SOP audits and ensure adherence to standards
• Review safety performance including accidents, incidents, analysis of root causes, CAPA and closure of action plans
• Ensure adherence to workplace standards and initiate disciplinary actions for non-adherence
• Review the identification of focused improvement projects, prioritization of the projects, project progress, KPI improvement, benefits and ensure on time closure of the projects including all control measures to ensure sustainability of the results
• Recognize the good work, exceptional performance to motivate the teams and ensure implementation of R&R(Reward and Recognition)
• Review weekly and monthly DMT progress, closure of MOM action points
• Monitor conversion cost, analyze any cost overrun and lead manufacturing cost control initiatives
• Assess all the legal and statutory compliance requirements for manufacturing and ensure compliance to those requirements
• Adopt best practices in manufacturing and set benchmark for plant KPIs at MKU
• Accompany client visits and make presentation to the clients and act as an ambassador of MKU
