MKU Private Limited, has become one of the pioneers to indigenously develop and produce Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Systems (UAVs).
Having an experience of over 20 years, MKU is the biggest supplier of ballistic protection products to the Indian Army, police, and other special forces. It has also carved out a niche in the international arena by establishing direct customer base in over 50 countries. The company maintains state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, an advanced research and development division, and a quality control department.
MKU's UAVS are designed around two basic philosophies:
- The UAVS must utilize cutting-edge technologies to provide the client with state-of-the-art capabilities; and
- The UAVS must operate autonomously and provide the operator with an easy to use, intuitive interface so that the operator can focus on the mission at hand.
The company’s first two UAVS offerings namely TERP (Tactical Electrical Reconnaissance Probe) and ERASMUS are slated to be launched at Abu Dhabi, UAE during IDEX 2009 for the Middle East & African market. These UAVs can achieve a maximum altitude of up to 19,500 feet AMSL, and be used for a range of applications like border control, remote surveillance and reconnaissance, disaster management, search and rescue, road patrol, convoy protection and survey and mapping.
MKU's UAV division currently has an R&D and Production Centre in Delhi, INDIA. The company is currently in the process of setting up an integrated R&D, Production and Flight Testing Facility at Dehradun.
