- International Quality Standards - ISO 9001:2000 certified manufacturing process...
Only the best manufacturing technology and processes are
employed at MKU to deliver resilient products that meet and
exceed the most demanding specifications laid down by the
leading Armed and Special Forces in the world. Care is taken
that each product which qualifies to be worn by the brave
warriors, undergoes the most stringent tests so as to provide
complete safety to them.
MKU's manufacturing process and systems are certified as
confirming to ISO 9001:2000 standards by the DNV,
Netherlands. Each plate manufactured by MKU carries a
distinct identification number through which every minute
detail & value during the entire cycle of its manufacturing
process can be tracked down for evaluation and information.
- Testing & Quality Assurance - ...Responsibly handling Responsibilities
MKU understands its responsibilities very well, it is aware that
brave men in life threatening situations do not have a second
chance.
Only the best materials and manufacturing processes are
employed at MKU to assure quality standards that meet and
exceed all national & international norms, specifications and
requirements.
MKU's quality assurance and product performances are well
proven in the field by its cutsomers and carry an excellent track
record. Armor plates manufactured by MKU are regularly and
thoroughly tested for strict adherence to international
performance standards and requirements at some of the best
labs in the world like HP White, USA, Terminal Ballitics
Reasearch Laboratory (TBRL), DRDO, India, TNO PML,
Netherlands, Beschubamt Mellrichstadt, Germay & Banc
Officiel D'Epreuve De Saint-Etienne, France.
- Nature of Plates -
Armor plates available from MKU and other suppliers can
normally be classified as either ‘Stand-alone’ or ‘Vest
dependant’
“Stand-alone” plates are designed to stop ballistic threats
using the plate alone. No ballistic vest is required for this plate
as all the energy and fragments are stopped in the plate.
These plates are usually preferred for tactical operations or
anti-terrorist work where the ammunition threat is unknown,
or if a higher safety margin for the user is required.
“Vest Dependant” plates are designed to stop the specified
threat within the vest/plate. Some fragments may penetrate
the plate, but are of much reduced energy which can be easily
stopped by the ballistic vest worn underneath. “Vest
dependant” plates are lighter, more comfortable, and less
bulky than stand-alone plates.
"Vest Dependant-High Performance" plates are designed to
stop the specified threat in the plate but in the conjunction
with the vest.
- Variety of Materials for a variety of Applications - Since the advent of ballistic technology, ballistic fibres have
become stronger, enabling manufacturers to develop lighter,
more flexible & more efficient body armor. With the modern
systems and technology available today, it is possible to
incorporate more than one type of fibres, different weaves
and different composites to manufacture body armor.
MKU is uniquely capable of processing polyethylene’s,
aramids and ceramics either alone or in combination under
one roof. This acquired expertise is a result of its experience of
working with all the ballistic raw-materials and technologies
currently available. It enables MKU to offer the most diverse
and extensive solutions for defeating nearly all conceivable
ballistic threats, be they from small handguns or from the
more lethal types of ammunitions like armor piercing and
titanium bullets.
- Value added customisation - MKU believes in adding value through customisation. Its team
of expert professionals go to great lengths to understand the
exact needs, nature, application and other requirements of its
customers. This enables them to design and develop
optimum & cost effective protection solutions for them.
- Shapes & Sizes – As modern armor becomes more ergonomic, the importance
of the right shape and the right curvature of armor plates is
critical, not only do they reduce extra bulk but also ensure
snug fits and comfort during prolonged use.
MKU’s manufactures a very wide range of armor plates in
either flat or multi curved formations like Double curve, Triple
curve and other complex geometries in varied sizes in a very
cost effective manner.
- Backing systems – Behind the strike face of modern armors is a system of energy
absorbing materials. These backing systems effectively
balance and minimize trauma upon impact and protect the
wearer from secondary fragments resulting from breaking of
the bullet by the ceramic strike face upon impact. Depending
upon specific requirements of required protection & trauma
levels, performance, weight, back-face deformation, thickness
& costs and other criteria's MKU can propose & apply different
composites and materials as backing structures in its armor
plates.
- Full range of Finishings and Exteriors – Armor plates from MKU are available in a variety of finishings &
coatings including. Black nylon cloth finishing, Hybrid plastic
moulds and box casing beside these, newer finishes for
armor plates are constantly being explored.
The plates can also be finished as per custom preferences in
colours & patterns of choice.
- Multi-hit capabilities – Advanced technologies & manufacturing processes employed
by MKU enable it to produce high performance armor plates
capable of absorbing multiple hits/impacts.
